The Ancient City of Qianzhou is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a cultural tourism site.

“Fenghuang has soldiers, Qianzhou has the city” — this is a widely circulated saying in western Hunan. The city of Qianzhou was the capital of the Miao territory, grand and majestic, serving as a melting pot and guardian of Miao culture. In contrast, Fenghuang was merely a small garrison town — narrow-minded yet exquisite.

As the saying goes: To explore western Hunan, head to Qiancheng. As early as 4,200 years ago, the city of Qianzhou became the capital of the vast Miao territory. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, in order to suppress uprisings among the Miao people, imperial generals were stationed in Qianzhou. Figures such as Prince Fu Fuk'anggan (also the prototype of Fuerkang in *Princess Pearl*), He Lin (the brother of Heshen), the renowned late-Qing general Luo Rongguang, and Shaanxi-Gansu Governor Yang Yuebin, all successively garrisoned troops in Qianzhou.

Through the vicissitudes of time and countless trials, the ancient city remains as imposing as ever, with well-preserved ancient architectural complexes, historic sites such as flagstone streets, a ten-li riverway, and lotus ponds under moonlight. These unique features captivate visitors and make them linger on.
