Zhengding Mosque

Zhengding Mosque is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengding County.

On May 10, 1995, it was designated as a county-level key cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Zhengding County.

It is located on the east side of Zhennan Street in the old town of Zhengding. The mosque was built in the 12th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1832) by Min Zhengfeng (a Hui Muslim), the garrison commander of Zhengding Prefecture. Originally, the mosque complex faced west and had a central courtyard upon entering the main gate, with lecture halls in the north and south beyond the second gate, as well as living quarters for the imam and students (known as hāfiz, or "successors"). The middle and rear sections housed the main prayer hall, which could accommodate several hundred worshippers. Next to the main hall was a water room, and on the south side was a small auxiliary courtyard where the imam’s family lived.

Currently, only the main prayer hall remains. It faces west and features a width of three bays and a depth of five bays, constructed as a single-eave, one-bay-one-curve building with green-tiled, interlocking roof structures. The front section has a seven-rafter front and rear corridor, with five-purlin beams supported by bracket sets carrying the three-purlin beams, rafters, pads, and brackets. The rear section has a rolled shed roof with brick walls and a cement floor. There is no platform, but there is a brick base. The original doors and windows have been replaced with modern ones. The hall is currently used by the Zhengding Hui Primary School.
