Guying Village Martyrs' Cemetery

The Guying Village Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural relics protection unit of Zhengding County.

On May 10, 1995, it was designated as a county-level key cultural relics protection unit by the People's Government of Zhengding County.

Located at the east entrance of Guying Village, Zhufutun Town, it is 7.75 kilometers from the county town. The site covers an area of 7,500 square meters. Established in July 1949, it was built to bury the martyrs after the Liberation of Zhengding Campaign. Later, the Guying Village Committee erected a monument and built a pavilion here. The pavilion is 4 meters high, and the monument is 1.6 meters tall, with the inscription “Eternal Glory Through the Ages” across the top and “Poured Out Their Last Drop of Blood for the People” inscribed vertically in the center. On both sides are the biographies of ten martyrs from Guying Village, including Li Chengyu. The back of the monument features the eulogy written by the then village head and Party branch secretary of Guying Village during the 1949 dedication. In the 1970s, a perimeter wall was built and trees were planted, and it was named Guying Martyrs' Cemetery. In August 1997, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Zhengding, the Zhengding County Committee and County Government erected a white marble memorial monument within the cemetery. General Yang Chengwu inscribed the monument with the words: “Eternal Glory to the Soldiers Who Sacrificed Themselves for the Liberation of Zhengding.”
