Zhengding Zhenwu Temple

Zhengding Zhenwu Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengding County.

On May 10, 1995, it was designated as a county-level key cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Zhengding County.

Located at the west end of the northern section of the main street in Xinchengpu Village, 17.5 km northeast of Zhengding County town. The temple features a three-bay width and one-bay depth. It has a single-eave suspended gable roof with green-glazed tiles interspersed among gray tiles. A rolled shed-style awning extends in front, covering an area of 73.6 square meters. The lower half of the eaves features five-curved double downward-projecting brackets. The architectural finishes have been altered, and the interior has a suspended ceiling. In 1986, engineer Qi Yingtao from the National Cultural Heritage Administration identified the Zhenwu Temple as a Ming Dynasty structure.

The Zhenwu Temple was destroyed in a fire on May 12, 2001. Professionals from the Cultural Relics Protection Office numbered, registered, and assembled the remaining wooden components, which were then properly stored in the west corridor of the county Confucius Temple.
