The ruins of the Queen Mother’s Pavilion and the Queen Mother’s Tomb are located west of Wangmu Village, Pingshan Town, Pingshan County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. On February 14, 2018, they were designated as part of the sixth batch of Provincial-level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People’s Government of Hebei Province.

The Queen Mother’s Pavilion was situated eight li to the northwest of the county, built on a high platform. It is said that Emperor Wu of Han once offered the Queen Mother nectar and performed the “Rainbow Skirt” dance here, hence the pavilion was built atop the Queen Mother’s Temple. Later generations settled below the pavilion and named the place Wangmu (Queen Mother) after it. Another legend says that the Queen Mother was originally the daughter of the Sang family from this village. Ostracized by her selfish brother and sister-in-law, who often forced her to tend cattle and weave, she later encountered an immortal, married into heaven, and was bestowed the title of Queen Mother. Locals later named the village Wangmu based on this tale.
