Zhangguanpu Dong Village

Zhangguanpu Dong Village is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hubei Province.

Zhangguanpu Dong Village

Located in Zhangguanpu Village, Xiaoguan Township, Xuan'en County. Built in the 13th year of the Yongzheng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1735), it includes residential buildings and the burial ground of the Chen family, covering an area of approximately twenty acres. The residential buildings face southeast from the northwest, featuring an axial symmetrical layout with a two-courtyard, three-skywell structure. Constructed with a post-and-lintel framework and topped with single-eave, suspended gable roofs covered in gray tiles. The Chen family burial ground includes over twenty ancient tombs, scattered around the Dong village in a radial arrangement, with exquisitely carved tombstones. The architectural complex of Zhangguanpu Dong Village has been hailed as "the foremost among ganlan-style buildings in western Hubei" due to "the classic nature of its construction." (Fifth Batch)
