Yewang Site

The Yewang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Henan Province.

The Yewang Site is situated in the sandy area to the southeast of Zhongmu County. The site is rich in relics and artifacts. Discovered in 1978, a detailed investigation was carried out in 1984, showing continuous usage from prehistoric times up to the Shang and Zhou periods.

The cultural layer is 1.5 meters thick, and the site is abundant in relics and artifacts. Scattered across the surface are numerous pottery shards, stone tool fragments, and animal bones. At a depth of one meter below the surface, stone tools such as grinding plates, grinding rods, shovels, adzes, chisels, and arrowheads were unearthed, among which the stone grinding plate has been designated as a national first-class cultural relic.

The Yewang Site provides important information about the historical, cultural, and social characteristics of the eastern Zhengzhou region, and holds high historical, cultural, and scientific value.
