The Shilidou Site

The Shilidou Site is a cultural heritage site protected by the Zhengzhou Municipal Government.

The Shilidou Site is located about 400 meters southeast of Shilidou Village, Yaojia Township. It stretches 300 meters from east to west and 400 meters from north to south, covering an area of 120,000 square meters. To the east lies a sandy ridge, and a production road runs north-south through the middle of the site. During surveys, gray pottery shards made of clay and sandy clay were collected, featuring decorative cord patterns. Identifiable artifacts include jars and tripods. On June 3, 2009, the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government designated it as part of the second batch of cultural heritage protection units. Analysis of the collected samples indicates that the site dates back to the Shang Dynasty, making it of significant importance for studying the social development of the Shang period.
