Qianyang Site

The Qianyang Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

The Qianyang Site is situated on a north-south oriented high ridge 100 meters south of Qianyang Village, Zheng’an Town, Zhongmu County. It measures 300 meters in length from north to south and 130–150 meters in width from east to west, with an area of about 37,000 square meters. It is bordered by Wansan Road to the west and a production road to the north. The exposed section contains a large number of red-fired clay blocks, and the survey collected plain gray earthenware shards and red pottery shards. Identifiable vessel shapes include basins and jars. Based on the analysis of the collected samples, the site is a remnant from the Yangshao Culture period of the Neolithic Age. The discovery of this site holds significant importance for the study of social development during the Yangshao Culture period of the Neolithic Age.

Qianyang Village: Qianyang Village is located 1.9 kilometers southwest of Zheng’an Town. It borders Laozhangbagou to the east, Luochehu Village to the west, Poleliu Village to the south, and Xiaozhuang Village to the north. Covering a total area of 2 square kilometers, the village has jurisdiction over 3 villager groups, 1,800 mu of arable land, 30 mu of orchards, 460 households, a population of 1,328, 36 Party members, 460 family representatives, 33 joint household representatives, 3 village affairs supervisors, and 14 households receiving subsistence allowances. The per capita arable land is 1.6 mu, with 200 private cars. To date, 26 university graduates have come from the village.
