Zhongmu Old Railway Station

Zhongmu Old Railway Station is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

Zhongmu Old Railway Station is located 1.5 kilometers southeast of the county town, on the east side of the former Longhai Railway line. It was built in 1944 by the Japanese invaders during their occupation of China. The station faces west and measures 16.25 meters from north to south and 9.8 meters from east to west. It features red tiles and brick construction, with the Chinese characters “中牟站” (Zhongmu Station) carved above the western wall. Twenty-five meters to its north, a two-story building was also constructed at the same time, measuring 6 meters in both length and width. In October 1959, a new station was built 1.5 kilometers to the west, after which this one was abandoned and is now a private residence. The railway station was first discovered by the Zhongmu County Cultural Relics Protection Office in 2008, and on June 3, 2009, it was announced by the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government as part of the second batch of cultural relic protection units. The discovery of this railway station provides valuable physical evidence for the study of Japanese imperialism’s invasion history in China.
