Introduction to Geothermal Energy in Gu'an, Langfang Gu'an County boasts abundant geothermal resources, especially in the Niutuo Town Uplift, which runs across the southern part of the county. Below two thousand meters, there is an area of 100 square kilometers where hot water with temperatures ranging from 50 to 100°C can be found. The total volume of stored hot water reaches 1.3 billion cubic meters, with 270 million cubic meters available for direct extraction. In terms of thermal energy, this is equivalent to 58 million tons of coal. Within this geothermal field, drilling nine self-flowing wells simultaneously yields a daily output of 2,000 cubic meters per well, with a usable lifespan of 40 years. Compared to other geothermal fields such as the Paris Basin in France, Akita Prefecture in Japan, and Beijing's Xiaotangshan in China, Gu'an’s geothermal resources are shallower, have a higher temperature gradient, and boast better water quality. The Niutuo Town Uplift is classified as one of the best high-quality geothermal fields in China and also holds significant medical value. To date, five geothermal wells have been drilled: Well Bao 25, located 25 kilometers south of Gu'an County and about 2 kilometers southeast of Duliuxiang Township, is currently developed and utilized by the Beijing Chaoyang District Floriculture Company; Well Bao 8, situated 30 kilometers within Gu'an County, 900 meters east of the Gu'ma Highway, at the western entrance of Xinfangzi Village in Mazhuang Town, has been sealed and is awaiting development.

Niutuo Town: Niutuo Town is located at the southernmost tip of Gu'an County, Hebei Province. It currently governs 50 villages and streets, with a population of 41,000 and a total area of 69.2 square kilometers. The cultivated land area covers 64,000 mu. The town government is stationed in Niutuo 6th Village. Major transportation routes such as the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, National Highway 106, and the Da Guang Expressway pass through the area. Historical sites include the Liao Dynasty Zunsheng Tuoluo Ni Sutra Pillar. It lies 70 kilometers north of Beijing, 80 kilometers east of Tianjin, and 90 kilometers west of Baoding, placing it in the heart of the "Golden Triangle" region of Beijing, Tianjin, and Baoding, and within the main area of the Greater Beijing Economic Strategy Zone.
