Zhuge Town: With a long history and rich culture, Zhuge Town got its name during the Three Kingdoms period when Zhuge Liang, moved by Liu Bei’s three visits to his thatched cottage in search of talent, decided to assist the Han dynasty. To resolve any concerns for his family’s safety, he had his mother reside here. During the Northern Song Dynasty, the renowned statesman and historian Sima Guang built the “Dule Garden” in Zhuge Town and completed his monumental chronological history, the Zizhi Tongjian.
