Former Site of the Henan-Shaanxi District Committee of the CPC

The Former Site of the Henan-Shaanxi District Committee of the CPC is a cultural relic protection unit of Henan Province.

[Former Site of the Henan-Shaanxi District Party Committee] is located at No. 3 West Street, Kaifeng City. It is a two-story pavilion-style building with a total of eight rooms on both floors. A staircase leads to the second floor, where elegant wooden lattice doors in the Qing Dynasty style can be found. The second floor features a corridor with railings, offering a view over the bustling streets below. In May 1925, the Henan-Shaanxi District Committee of the Communist Party of China was established in Zhengzhou, with Wang Ruofei as secretary and Huang Pingfang as deputy secretary. Those in charge of labor movement work included Wang Hebo, Zhang Kun Di, and Li Zhenying successively; Zhang Jingzeng was responsible for organizational work, Feng Pin Yi for propaganda, and Li Qiushi for youth movement. Soon after its establishment, the District Committee moved from Zhengzhou to this building on West Street in Kaifeng. On September 1, 1925, under the leadership of the Henan-Shaanxi District Committee, the magazine "Zhongzhou Review," edited by Ms. Xiao Chu, was officially published. During this period, due to the relationship between our Party and the Second National Army, the District Committee could carry out semi-public activities. Under the leadership of Wang Ruofei, the committee members actively engaged in various efforts, developed many Party and League members, carried out substantial organizational development work, and made significant contributions to China’s revolutionary cause. It was the earliest leading Party organization in Henan and is now a key cultural relic protection unit of Henan Province.
