The Lingxing Gate of the Kaifeng Prefecture Confucius Temple

The Lingxing Gate of the Kaifeng Prefecture Confucius Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Henan Province.

The Lingxing Gate of the Kaifeng Prefecture Confucius Temple was originally located within the temple grounds but is now situated along the street and appears slightly lower due to the elevation of the road surface. Its architectural structure follows the post-and-lintel style, supported by four sky-reaching columns adorned with stone-carved mythical beasts at the tops. There are three vermilion-painted doors between the columns, with the middle one slightly taller. Each door is fitted with bracket sets, and the roof is covered with green glazed tubular tiles featuring ridge ornaments. In front of the gate stands a pair of stone lions, which are also original to the Confucius Temple. In 1991, the Lingxing Gate was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Kaifeng City. On June 8, 2006, it was included in the fourth batch of Henan Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Units.
