Ruins of the Zhao State Great Wall

The ruins of the Zhao State Great Wall are a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level.

The ruins of the Zhao State Great Wall are located along the northern and eastern edges of Huixian City, running roughly from north to south. Constructed from Taihang bluestone, it connects to the Southern Zhao Great Wall of the Warring States period in Linzhou to the north, passes through Huixian and Weihui, and ends at Fenjiangchi in Fengquan District. Within Huixian, the wall stretches nearly 40 kilometers, with a base width of 2–3 meters and a height of 1–2 meters, having stood for over 2,000 years. Locals refer to it as “Border Wall Ridge” or “Frontier Ridge.” It is the only representative of the early Great Wall in northern Henan. In 2006, it was designated as part of the sixth group of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level by the State Council.
