Cloud Terrace Mountain Porous Spring

The Porous Spring is situated within the Red Stone Gorge scenic area and is a landmark attraction of both the gorge and Cloud Terrace Mountain as a whole. It often features in promotional images of the region. Crystal-clear water from upstream flows through several stone apertures before dropping into a deep pool below, forming a miniature waterfall. The water splashes against the rocks, sending up showers of snowy foam, creating a truly spectacular sight. The lake is a vivid, emerald green, flanked by ochre-red cliffs covered in lush shrubs, which complement the flowing spring to create a dynamic, picturesque landscape reminiscent of an ink painting.

Special Tips

1. There are relatively wide stone beaches on both the north and south sides of the Porous Spring, offering great vantage points to admire the scenery. As a result, this spot is also very popular for taking photos.

2. While it is possible to cross the bridge over the Porous Spring, the bridge is narrow and only allows one person to pass at a time, so visitors must queue. It’s best not to linger or take photos on the bridge for too long, to avoid delaying others. Please be extremely cautious when crossing — avoid horseplay to prevent accidentally falling into the water.
