The Zhuyuan Site is located to the west of Zhuyuan Natural Village, Lingxiaozhuang Village, Xiaodian Township. The ancient site covers an area of approximately 120,000 square meters, with a path running through the middle and a cliff over two meters deep visible on the eastern side. From the cross-section of the cliff, the top 0.15 meters consist of cultivated soil, 0.15–1.5 meters of yellowish-gray soil, and 1.5–2 meters of dark gray soil. Charred wood fragments can be seen in the gray layer, and below 2 meters lies yellow virgin soil. The cliff reveals numerous urn burials, and the surface is scattered with a large number of pottery fragments. Provincial, municipal, and county cultural relics workers conducted three surveys and follow-up inspections in 1962, 1976, and 1981. Excavated pottery types include tripods, jars, bowls, basins, steamers, pointed-bottom vessels, spinning whorls, and rough grinding tools, all handmade. There are very few black clay pottery pieces, while painted pottery accounts for a certain proportion, featuring decorative patterns such as red broad bands and colored leaf dots. Other patterns include string patterns, fingertip pits, and added coil designs. It is a Yangshao Culture site where Peiligang Culture remnants have also been discovered. In 1963, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit by the People's Government of Henan Province.
