Garden of Yarrow

The Garden of Yarrow is located within the Temple of Fuxi, about 15 kilometers east of Shangcai County. In ancient times, yarrow was regarded as a sacred herb capable of "revealing hidden truths, delving into the profound, discerning the fortunes and misfortunes of the world, and guiding the people with unwavering clarity." According to the *Ming Dynasty Record of the Yarrow Platform* by Yang Xun, featured in the *Revised Chronicles of Runing Prefecture*, it is noted: “The yarrow stems curve like dragons, their tips flutter like phoenixes in flight, densely covering the platform. When Fuxi created the divination method, he used these stalks to draw the changes of the Eight Trigrams, hence the name ‘Yarrow Platform’.” Photo by Fan Jinfeng
