In August 1944, the Shuidong Independent Regiment, an anti-Japanese armed force led by the Chinese Communist Party, captured the enemy puppet stronghold of Changgangji with the support of local militias. Shortly afterward, a victory celebration assembly was held in Yanzhuang Village, several miles south of Changgang, where the official establishment of the Sui County Anti-Japanese United Government was announced, and its office was set up in the ancestral hall of the Yan family in the village. The hall consists of three tiled rooms facing south and is situated to the north. It remains well-preserved to this day and was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit by the county government in May 1981.
