Xuan Di Temple in Tangyin is a cultural relic protection unit of Henan Province.

Xuan Di Temple in Tangyin County is located on East Street, Caiyuan Town, about 15 kilometers east of Tangyin County town. It lies north of the Tang River and east of Hetai Highway, covering an area of 500 square meters with a built-up area of 250 square meters. Built during the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty and renovated in the 56th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the temple now preserves fifteen ancient structures including the mountain gate, main hall, and Jade Emperor Pavilion, all of which hold high historical, artistic, and scientific value.

According to surviving inscriptions: “The Jade Emperor Xuan Di was established in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty…”, “Renovated in the 56th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty.” The site was formerly used as Caiyuan East Street Primary School. After centuries of vicissitudes, the ancient buildings of Xuan Di Temple have remained largely intact, offering significant research value for the study of ancient Chinese architectural styles, and it is a popular destination for visitors to Tangyin.

Caiyuan Town: Located 18 kilometers east of the county town, Caiyuan Town is the hometown of the national hero Yue Fei. The town administers 36 administrative villages, has a population of 51,000, and cultivates 89,000 mu of arable land. The land within the town is divided equally among hills, plains, and low-lying areas. Hetai Highway runs east-west through the town, providing very convenient transportation. It is a traditional agricultural hub.
