The Shouguang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

The Shouguang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is a key martyrs’ memorial building under protection in Shandong Province. Located in the northwest corner of Shouguang city, it covers an area of 80 mu and houses the remains of 1,736 martyrs.

The cemetery is divided into three parts: a sightseeing and leisure area, a memorial area, and the martyrs’ tomb area. The sightseeing area includes traditional Chinese-style gates, a lotus viewing pond, a fish viewing pond, rockeries, mushroom-shaped pavilions, and more. Here, ancient trees stand tall, lush woods and slender bamboo create serene paths, offering enchanting scenery. In the central part of the cemetery, green lawns and towering pine and cypress trees frame the majestic and solemn Revolutionary Martyrs’ Memorial Hall, which has a construction area of over 430 square meters. The hall displays the stories of more than 40 notable martyrs from Shouguang, including Zhang Yushan, the first County Party Secretary of Shouguang of the Communist Party of China, and Cao Shifan, a first-class combat hero, as well as over 1,000 relics left by the martyrs. Inside the hall stands a renowned sculpture commemorating the Niutouzhen Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising. The martyrs’ tomb area comprises the Liberation of Shouguang Monument Pavilion, the Shouguang Martyrs’ Name Stele Corridor, and the martyrs’ burial grounds. Towering pines and cypresses cover the martyrs’ spirits, symbolizing everlasting reverence. The elegantly roofed stele corridor is inscribed with the names of the martyrs, inspiring future generations to forever remember the heroic sacrifices made for the founding of New China.

The Shouguang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery serves as a patriotic education base in Shouguang City and also functions as the city’s botanical garden. Over 40 primary and secondary schools have established moral education parks here, and nearly 100,000 people visit each year to pay tribute to the martyrs and receive education. The beautiful environment provides an ideal setting for sightseeing and leisure.
