Tanma Village is located 12 kilometers west of Chengguan Subdistrict. The village has 566 households and a population of 1,850, covering a total area of 7,283 mu, including 1,531 mu of arable land and 5,552 mu of forested land, with a forest coverage rate of 70%. In 2012, the per capita net income was 10,029 yuan, and the village collective income was 800,000 yuan. With the in-depth development of the scenic area, tourist numbers have continued to rise and tourism revenue has grown year by year. In 2012, Shimenfang received 100,000 tourists, generating 3 million yuan in tourism income, of which the village earned 450,000 yuan — the main source of its collective income. Cherry production has reached a significant scale, with planting areas continuously expanding and cherry yields increasing annually. Cherry production has become one of the village’s pillar industries. The total cherry cultivation area has reached 600 mu, with an output of 300,000 jin (150 tons) and income of 3 million yuan.

In recent years, the village has actively leveraged its proximity to the Shimenfang Scenic Area. Focusing on the goal of building a tourism-driven village, it has further clarified tourism development strategies, tapped into tourism potential, and aligned with the overall plan of Shimenfang Scenic Area. Emphasis has been placed on developing supporting elements of tourism such as food, accommodation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment, while pursuing a path of tourism-led village prosperity and enrichment. Around Shimenfang Reservoir, both sides of the Shimenfang roads, and along the dedicated tourism route, 60 farm stay restaurants and fruit-picking gardens have been strategically arranged. Utilizing pristine ecological landscapes and authentic local folk culture, the village has created an eco-leisure tourism destination that embodies a carefree travel experience and integrates food, lodging, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment. In coordination with the subdistrict, efforts have been made to develop ten distinctive tourism zones, focusing on the two main exits of the scenic area, including a Farming Experience Zone, Shimenfang Pristine Ecotourism Zone, and a Leisure Resort Zone, supported by over 20 service facilities. This has laid the initial foundation for a new eco-economic model where ecological construction drives economic growth, and economic development in turn consolidates ecological conservation.

The county road Y007 passes through the Shimenfang Red Leaf Scenic Area, connecting eastward to S327 and westward to Qingzhou, ensuring smooth access to and from Tanma Village.
