The Mengyin Underground Milky Way Scenic Area is located 6 kilometers northwest of Mengyin County in Shandong Province. To the south lies Mengshan Mountain, known as a natural oxygen bar, to the east is the red tourism holy site—Heroic Menglianggu. Adjacent to Tianyue Lake and nestled beneath Changshan Mountain, it is embraced by two jade-like peaks, the Eastern and Western Yuhuang Mountains, and also features the historically renowned “Golden Basin Bottom” landform. Ascending to the summit of Changshan Mountain, visitors are greeted by a range of towering peaks, perfectly showcasing the vast peach orchards at the mountain’s base. The scenic area spans over 4,000 acres and is a leisure and entertainment destination that combines mountain hiking, water activities, camping, sketching, historical exploration, and cave expeditions.

Within the scenic area, the Tianyue Lake Wetland Water Park is surrounded by green mountains and situated against the hills and waters. It primarily offers non-motorized watercraft activities such as canoeing and bamboo rafting. These include features like logs, barrels, tree stumps, suspension bridges, zip lines, and pontoon bridges. The southern peninsula base focuses on dynamic group water activities, such as beach swimming, beach sports, high-altitude zip-lining, and water play. The northern water surface is more tranquil, offering fishing, boating, wetland viewing, camping, bonfire parties, and barbecue activities, allowing visitors to enjoy endless fun.

The Peach Blossom Ancient Village invites you to explore history and serenity. With a history of nearly a thousand years, the “Peach Blossom Ancient Village” has maintained the most primitive village style of the Yimeng Mountain area. Entering the village feels like stepping into a paradise detached from the modern world. Stone houses built with locally sourced materials are etched with the marks of time, telling stories of ancient history and civilization. The distant mountains and nearby waters form an indescribable landscape painting. It fully reflects the profound historical heritage and cultural richness unique to the Yimeng revolutionary base area.

Cave Rafting and Adventure in a Marvelous Underground Realm. This cave was formed 120 million years ago. Stretching over 10,000 meters, it consists of upper, middle, and lower levels, with caves within caves, interlocking and twisting in a complex maze. Its jade-like peaks and crystal-clear walls are unfathomably deep. It is the longest and best-preserved underground natural wonder discovered in Shandong Province. The upper level of the cave is a stalactite cavern, where stone flowers shine like stars, glistening and translucent in diverse shapes. The cave is home to tens of thousands of black-and-white bats. Amazingly, during its development, over 40 types of ancient animal fossils were unearthed, including saber-toothed tiger teeth, wild boar leg bones, bear skulls, deer antlers, wild boar teeth, and ceratopsian fossils... Such findings are extremely rare among caves in northern China. Countless springs inside the cave gush year-round with abundant water, where various primitive fish and shrimp thrive, swimming in schools. The cave is shrouded in mist, maintaining a constant temperature all year round. Drifting by boat through the winding and mysterious 10,000-meter underground river, visitors can experience this earthly paradise crafted by nature’s spirits. In summer, the cave offers a cool respite, while in winter, it remains as warm as spring. From atop the mountain, one can gaze at Tianyue Lake nearby, with its picturesque scenery, the Peach Blossom Ancient Village, and curling cooking smoke. In spring, peach blossoms bloom in profusion; in summer, the lake shimmers with blue waves; in autumn, the ancient village glows with red leaves.
