Qiancheng Ancient Village
Qiancheng Ancient Village is a national AA-level tourist attraction.
Qiancheng Traditional Village was one of the 13 provincial-level traditional villages in Linyi shortlisted in May 2015, boasting rich historical, cultural, scientific, artistic, economic, and social value. In July 2015, Taoxu Town specifically invited Shandong Lujian Urban Planning and Design Institute to carry out protective planning and design for the traditional village.
The Qiancheng Traditional Village is centered around the construction of ancient dwellings from the 1960s and 1970s. Together with the local villagers’ beloved "Three Treasures of Qiancheng"—Chinese toon, pomegranate, and catalpa trees—it forms a distinctive cluster of traditional villages rich in local character. Among the “Three Treasures,” Qiancheng Chinese toon was selected as an exclusive product for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, enjoyed and praised by visitors from around the world. Qiancheng pomegranates, registered under the trademark “Gongting Qing” (Imperial Green), are among the high-quality fruits of Linyi. Qiancheng catalpa wood features straight grain and is tough and dense, making it a preferred material for crafting high-end furniture.
To the south of the Qiancheng Traditional Village lies the Jinlong Mountain Yangjiayu Scenic Area. Legend has it that in the early Ming Dynasty, a young lady from a wealthy family and a hired worker fell in love and eloped here. They discovered a cave on a steep cliff—the cave entrance was so narrow that only one person could pass through at a time, but the interior was spacious enough for twenty or thirty people. The couple settled there, started a family, and lived a fairy-tale life, which gave the place its name, “Yangjiayu” (Raising a Family Valley). The Qiancheng Jinlong Mountain Yangjiayu project leverages the beautiful and unique scenery of the Qiancheng Traditional Village and the abundant tourist traffic from the 5A-level Mount Mengshan, making it an excellent site for tourism development.
