Mazishi Tourist Area
Mazishi Tourist Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.
The Mazishi Scenic Area is located in Mazishigou Village, Daidi Town, at the heart of the Daidi landform — China's fifth-largest rock formation landscape wonder. It is a typical mountainous town in the eastern part of Jinan, the provincial capital, and lies 7 kilometers from Daidi Town, known as China’s most beautiful small town. The scenic area and its surroundings feature crisscrossing mountain streams, numerous springs, and lush pines and cypresses. It enjoys convenient transportation, a pleasant climate, simple and honest folkways, and beautiful scenery, making it an ideal destination for sightseeing, leisure vacations, adventure and fitness, as well as scientific research. The traditional dwellings in the area are all built against the mountains, with stone walls and red tiles, sturdy and aesthetically pleasing, showcasing the distinctive characteristics of typical northern mountain villages. In particular, the dry-laid stone walls are a hallmark of residential architecture in the Yimeng region, reflecting the industrious, frugal, and land-loving farming culture of the villagers, and holding unique value as specimens of vernacular housing.
Leveraging its resource advantages, the Mazishi Scenic Area has developed a distinctive rural tourism model that blends rock appreciation with traditional dwelling experiences. First, drawing on its own strengths, it offers agricultural sightseeing tours that combine flower and fruit viewing, agricultural production, farmhouse meals, pastoral scenery, and fruit picking, allowing visitors to admire the Daidi landforms while sampling green, organic agricultural products. Second, it delves deeply into "stone culture," using the "Stone Horse" as a starting point and centering the theme around rocks to create a “Stone Age Paradise” through homestays, daily utensils, and tourist souvenirs. Third, it fully revitalizes traditional village resources, using these villages as a foundation and making optimal use of the highlight of “traditional rural dwellings” to develop “lifestyle-oriented rural tourism spots” that integrate tourism with rural living functions. Fourth, it actively seizes development opportunities, effectively combining agriculture with tourism by integrating peach picking with leisure sightseeing and vacation travel. The rural tourism sector continues to grow, gradually forming a leisure and entertainment hub that combines dining, accommodation, and recreation.
