China's Marvelous Stone City
China's Marvelous Stone City is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
China's Marvelous Stone City is located one kilometer north of Fei County in Linyi City, Shandong Province. It is the largest appreciation stone base in China, a national AAA-level scenic spot, a key cultural tourism industry project in Shandong Province, a major development project of the Provincial Department of Land and Resources, and a key project in Linyi City. With a total investment of 1.02 billion yuan and a controlled planned area of 4,000 mu, it emphasizes both tourism development and stone trading, aiming to build the largest stone trading market in the country, a leisure tourism resort where landscapes and stones complement each other, and a uniquely distinctive stone commercial street in Shandong Province.
Fei County’s China's Marvelous Stone City is situated in the northern suburbs of Fei County in Linyi City, Shandong Province, within the revolutionary old base area of Yimeng. The total planned area of the project is 8 square kilometers, extending north to Ronghezhuang and Gaijiadong villages, south to National Highway 327, west to Yimeng Herb Garden, and adjacent to Tacheng Road to the east, with a total investment of approximately 1.02 billion yuan. The first phase of the project covers an area of 4,000 mu. The scenic area follows the layout design concept of “a town within a city, a village within a town, scenery within a village, and emotions arising from the scenery.” Centered around Tianlai Stone Valley, it has carefully created more than ten attractions, including the Stone Commercial Street, Hongyun Town, Longyuan, Xuyuan, Suiyuan, Meiyuan, and Haitangyuan.
The scenic area focuses on stone culture, gardens, and entertainment, integrating stone displays, garden sightseeing, leisure entertainment, and folk culture to achieve interaction between commerce and tourism and a blend of real scenes. Over 20,000 various types of stones have been procured and installed; more than 15,000 trees, over 1.5 million shrubs, and 91,000 square meters of lawn have been planted. The first phase of the commercial street has a construction area of 15,000 square meters, with 67 merchants having moved in and operations already underway. The second phase of the commercial street has a construction area of 17,000 square meters, invested and built by Beijing Taifengyuan Investment Management Co., Ltd., and is now in operation. The land area designated for the Stone Exhibition Hall is 35 mu, with a construction area of approximately 15,700 square meters. The Fang Xinquan Master Garden, with an investment of 26 million yuan, is expected to begin operations in January 2016. Fujian Bindy Amusement Co., Ltd. has invested in building the Minshun Amusement Park, covering 35 mu, with 20 million yuan already invested. It features 18 amusement projects, including a water park, horror house, and jungle flying squirrel rides.
Fei County’s China's Marvelous Stone City is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a key cultural tourism industry project in Shandong Province, a key development project for stone resource protection by the Shandong Provincial Department of Land and Resources, a Shandong Province science education demonstration base, a key tourism development project in Linyi City, a teaching and sketching base for Linyi University, and a photography creation base in Shandong Province.
In the next phase, China's Marvelous Stone City will follow the strategy of “expanding eastward and extending northward,” refining existing attractions and highlighting local cultural characteristics. New projects such as the Bagua Array and Fei County Stone Trading Center are planned. The area will expand from the current 3,000 mu to 8,000 mu, connecting both eastern and western exits of the entire China's Marvelous Stone City tourist area to the main tourism route leading to the Yimeng Mountain Yintaishan Tianmeng Scenic Area. China's Marvelous Stone City has currently received an investment of 460 million yuan. Roads within the park extend in all directions, like long ribbons, linking all the projects in the stone city. Throughout the park, in front of houses, beside paths, among stones, green carpets and flower seas stretch out, with willow branches brushing fences and winding paths leading to secluded spots. Infrastructure such as water, electricity, communications, and water conservancy is fully developed.
In the Artificial Rockery Garden, black stones unique to Fei County are piled up, with black pines adding lush layers. The mountain contours are naturally graceful and beautiful. The fusion of craftsmanship and nature offers a uniquely serene and elegant ambiance.
Exiting the Artificial Rockery Garden and heading west along Yimeng Road, you can see the largely completed Stone Exhibition Hall. This is a key project serving the artistic and commercial exchanges of China's Marvelous Stone City. The project has a construction area of over 15,000 square meters and an investment of 100 million yuan.
Fei County is known as the hometown of China’s appreciation stones. China's Marvelous Stone City is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, a Shandong Province tourism and leisure shopping district, and a Shandong Province science education base. Fei County possesses the largest buried-type stone forest in China, and “Fei County Stones” are hailed by experts as “the greatest natural wonder discovered in northern China at the turn of the century.” The Stone City is based on the resources of “Fei County Stones,” integrating stone trading into real landscapes to create a comprehensive trading and multi-experiential platform. It enhances market value through tourism and enriches the tourism industry system through the market, achieving interaction between commerce and tourism and real-scene transactions. The park covers a total area of 8,000 mu, with the first phase spanning 3,000 mu and an investment of 1.02 billion yuan. With stone culture, gardens, and entertainment as the main threads, it builds four major sectors: stone display, garden sightseeing, leisure entertainment, and folk culture. The project breaks through systemic and functional limitations, seamlessly integrates with real scenes, and combines form with function to realize functional tourism and experiential trading. Centered around Tianlai Stone Valley in the middle, surrounding areas feature attractions such as Longyuan, the Stone Tourism Commercial Street, the Twelve Zodiac Garden, the Twelve Constellation Garden, Meiyuan, Haitangyuan, the Stone Forest Show Stage, and an amusement park. “Fei County Stones” showcase their diverse beauty across all project settings.
