The Shanyao Mountain Ten-Thousand-Mu Walnut Garden Tourist Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Feixian Ten-Thousand-Mu Walnut Garden Tourist Area is located in the heart of Shanyao Mountain in Mazhuang Town. It borders National Highway 327 and the Rizhao–Dongying Expressway to the north, and —— to the east. To the west, it connects with the Immortal’s Cave Scenic Area and Xujiaya Reservoir. It is a 20-minute drive from Feixian Railway Station and a 60-minute drive from Linyi Airport, offering very convenient transportation.

The scenic area’s ten-thousand-mu walnut plantation spans over 100,000 mu, making it the largest high-quality walnut production base in Shandong Province. The Shanyao Mountain walnuts produced here have obtained national pollution-free agricultural product certification and organic food quality certification. The area has a forest coverage rate of 79.2%, with forests, fruit orchards, rivers, ancient trees, and rural scenery spread throughout. The air is fresh, the natural landscape is serene and beautiful, and the pastoral scenery is tranquil and unique, making it an ideal destination for leisure, relaxation, and getting close to nature. There are now 26 sightseeing spots and 17.1 kilometers of tourist routes. The scenic area is fully equipped with service facilities, including a visitor reception center and a tourist area management office. There are over 60 bilingual (Chinese-English) route signs, 43 information signs at attractions, and 5 farmhouse inns, providing convenient accommodation and dining options. The area offers comprehensive one-stop services for food, lodging, and travel. In 2005, it was approved by the Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau as a “Provincial Eco-Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site.”

Within the scenic area, visitors can tour the walnut variety demonstration garden, the apple orchard, and the “Ten Thousand Persimmons Bring Good Fortune” garden to experience the region’s distinctive agriculture. They can also drive to see ancient trees such as the Millennium Flowery Tree, Twin Phoenix Tree, Dragon Spine Soapberry, and Millennium Walnut King. Additionally, they can hike along stone paths to observe the simple life of rural families and experience the pioneering spirit and profound cultural heritage of the Yimeng Mountains. Depending on the season, visitors can also pick walnuts, persimmons, pomegranates, hawthorn, pears, and other fruits, enjoy the fruits of their own labor, and savor authentic green farm cuisine.
