Feixian Martyrs' Cemetery is located in Xuezhuang Town, Feixian County. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Dabieshan area was the central hub of the Yimeng Anti-Japanese Base. At dawn on November 30, 1941, over 50,000 Japanese troops from the 10th Independent Mixed Brigade and local puppet forces launched a "mopping-up" operation in the Dabieshan region. Nearly 6,000 non-combat personnel from the First Branch of the Counter-Japanese Military and Political University, the Shandong Sub-bureau of the Chinese Communist Party, the Shandong Provincial War Work Committee, and the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army mistakenly entered the enemy encirclement, creating an extremely critical situation. Zhou Chuangquan, commander of the First Branch, led the 5th Battalion to cover the successful breakout of the main force. Due to the overwhelming enemy strength, more than 300 people, including Chen Ming, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Shandong Provincial War Work Committee, Wang Liren, head of the Enemy Work Department of the 115th Division, and Hans Shippe, a Polish journalist, sacrificed their lives heroically during the breakout. The successful breakout at Dabieshan successfully protected the party, government, and military organs of Shandong and had a significant impact in the history of China's War of Resistance. To commemorate the martyrs who fell in the Dabieshan breakout, the cemetery was first built in 1954, covering an area of over 100,000 square meters. It is divided into a memorial area and a martyrs' resting area. The memorial area includes the Dabieshan Victory Breakout Memorial Plaza and a memorial hall. The exhibition in the memorial hall is divided into four sections: Establishing the Yimeng Base, The Bloody Breakout at Dabieshan, The Mountains Bear Witness to Heroic Names, and The Yimeng Spirit Forges Brilliance, recreating the scene of the Dabieshan breakout. The martyrs' resting area consists of a martyrs' cemetery, a martyrs’ stele forest, and a Counter-Japanese Military and Political University stele forest, where over 800 named martyrs and more than 3,000 unnamed martyrs are laid to rest, including notable figures such as Chen Ming, Xin Rui, Zhang Hongyi, and Hans Shippe. The cemetery is a national-level war memorial facility, a national youth education base, and a Shandong Provincial-level martyrs' memorial facility protection unit.

Xuezhuang Town: Xuezhuang Town is located in the northeast of Feixian County, covering a total area of 156.3 square kilometers. It governs 58 administrative villages with a population of 54,000. In 2002, the town achieved a gross domestic product of 320 million yuan and a per capita rural income of 2,990 yuan. It has been successively named a “National Top 100 Afforestation and Greening Township,” “China’s Chestnut Hometown,” “National Youth Education Base,” and “Provincial Model Town for New Rural Construction.”

The area is rich in marble, vermiculite, bentonite, and quartzite reserves. The third highest peak of Mount Meng — Wanghai Tower — is located here. A magnificent chapter in China’s war resistance history... More detailed information about Xuezhuang Town ++
