Memorial Hall of the Special Committee of the Su-Lu-Yu-Wan Border Region

The Memorial Hall of the Special Committee of the Su-Lu-Yu-Wan Border Region is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The Memorial Hall of the Special Committee of the Su-Lu-Yu-Wan Border Region is located in Gaoqiao Village, Shijing Town, Feixian County, Shandong Province. Shijing Town borders Lanling County to the south and connects with Shanting District of Zaozhuang City to the west, situated at the junction of two cities and three counties. From June 1936 to October 1937, the Special Committee of the Su-Lu-Yu-Wan Border Region led the Party's work in the border region from here. The memorial hall has been restored according to the principle of “restoring the old as it was originally,” based on the architectural style of civilian houses in the 1930s, reconstructing 18 rooms. The exhibition area inside the hall is divided into five sections: Guangdetang, Gaoqiao Primary School, Peasant Night School, Exhibition Hall, and Rural Memory Photo Exhibition.

The name of the memorial hall was inscribed by the former Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense. At the entrance of the memorial hall, there is a stone tablet preserving the site of the War of Resistance Against Japan. Inside the main gate, there is a thematic sculpture composed of five large stones. The four stones at the bottom represent the four provinces of Su, Lu, Yu, and Wan, while the stone at the top represents the then Special Committee of the Su-Lu-Yu-Wan Border Region, which organized and led the work in the border area of the four provinces.

The exhibition area inside the hall is divided into five sections: Guangdetang, Gaoqiao Primary School, Peasant Night School, Exhibition Hall, and Rural Memory Photo Exhibition.

Guangdetang is a reconstructed traditional pharmacy, with Chinese medicine books, a mill trough, tables, and chairs recreating the appearance of the pharmacy at that time. The Exhibition Hall is divided into four parts: The Spark in Southern Shandong, The Establishment of the Special Committee, The Tide Rises in Gaoqiao, and Marching Towards the War of Resistance, introducing the history of that period. The Rural Memory Photo Exhibition documents the development history of Shijing Town.
