Wangcun Vinegar Museum

The Wangcun Vinegar Museum is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Wangcun Vinegar Museum is located at No. 99 Xinghua Road, Wangcun Town, Zhoucun District, with a total construction area of 1,590 square meters. It was designed by the Architectural Design and Planning Research Institute of Tianjin University.

The museum uses detailed and reliable historical materials and objects to showcase the thousands of years of development since the birth of millet vinegar in a dynamic format. It is the first millet vinegar culture museum in China, dedicated to preserving, inheriting, and promoting the brewing culture of Wangcun vinegar to prevent it from being forgotten or lost.

The museum is divided into six major sections: the Preface Hall, the History and Culture of Wangcun Vinegar, the Vinegar Brewing Room, the Traditional Brewing Workshop, the Wangcun Vinegar Knowledge Corridor, and the Tasting & Sales Hall.

Preface Hall

Upon entering the Wangcun Vinegar Museum, the first area you see is the Preface Hall. It features a design themed around grain storage bins for millet, constructed with 200 tons of firebrick. Standing inside, you feel as if you are in a serene mountain valley, with a lingering aftertaste.

History and Culture of Wangcun Vinegar

Strolling through the History and Culture of Wangcun Vinegar exhibition on the second floor, you can trace the origins from the brewing and vinegar-making practices of the Dawenkou era, to the vinegar-making methods recorded in the "Qimin Yaoshu" during the Northern Wei Dynasty, and further to the "Zichuan County Annals" from the Ming Dynasty's Jiajing era. This section illustrates the historical progression of Wangcun vinegar, which originated in the Longshan Culture period, flourished in the Jiajing era, and was revived in contemporary times.

Vinegar Brewing Room

In the Vinegar Brewing Room, you can immerse yourself in the aroma of vinegar, breathe in the vinegar-scented air, and enjoy the natural process of disinfection and sterilization.

Traditional Brewing Workshop

As the name suggests, the Traditional Brewing Workshop showcases a real production scene, making you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time to the production environment of brewing workshops during the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period.

Wangcun Vinegar Knowledge Corridor

The Wangcun Vinegar Knowledge Corridor provides information related to food, health, wellness, and longevity.

Tasting & Sales Hall

The Tasting & Sales Hall offers health-promoting vinegar for visitors attending the exhibition.
