Zibo Zhongqin Ancestral Hall

Zibo Zhongqin Ancestral Hall is a cultural tourism attraction.

　Also known as the Wang Family Ancestral Hall, it is located on the north side of Xinli Village Street in Xincheng Town, Huantai County, and was built to commemorate Wang Chongguang of the Ming Dynasty. The hall was first constructed in 1588 (the 16th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty) and was originally grand in scale, but only one-third of its original area remains today. The ancestral hall complex stretches 88 meters from north to south and 43 meters from east to west, covering an area of 3,784 square meters. The courtyard houses a main hall with five bays, the central three of which have projecting eaves. It is 22 meters long, 14 meters high, and 9.65 meters deep, all built with brick and wood. The roof features raised ridges with tiles, and the eaves are single-layered wooden beams. Inside the hall are eight large round wooden pillars, with painted decorations on the beams at the top. The inner walls are inlaid with 85 stone steles, all well-preserved. The inscriptions on the steles are carved with calligraphy by famous historical masters such as Zhong Yao, Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, Ouyang Xun, Liu Gongquan, and Yu Shinan, featuring regular, cursive, clerical, and seal scripts. The hall also contains painted stone portraits of Wang Chongguang and his subordinates—commanders Wang and Zhang. The rear hall consists of three bays and is called the “Sima Ancestral Hall.” Originally built as the ancestral hall for Wang Xiangqian, a Ministry of War official in the late Ming Dynasty, it has now been expanded into the Wang Shizhen Memorial Hall.
