Jiu Yi Square

Jiu Yi Square: Situated on the west side of Yingbin Avenue in Yucheng City, Shandong Province, the 150-mu square includes the Statue of King Yu, shaded relaxation zones, exhibition spaces, terraced landscapes, and cultural lamp posts. It functions as a civic venue integrating promotional displays and fitness-recreation uses, serving as a carrier for heritage, cultural promotion, and memory preservation. The statue of Great Yu stands a total of 13 meters high, with the figure itself being 5 meters tall and surrounded by stone inscriptions commemorating his flood-control achievements. In June 2003, it was relocated to Yingbin Road. The new site covers a land area of 5,400 square meters, with the statue of Yu standing 6 meters high and its base reaching 13.96 meters. The surrounding green area spans 3,500 square meters, the leisure plaza occupies 200 square meters, the Yu Culture Wall extends 25 meters in length, and it is inlaid with inscriptions totaling over 6,000 characters detailing the original unveiling of the Yu statue and the list of contributors.
