Xinhu Scenic Area is located in the city center of Dezhou, bordered by Dongfanghong Road to the north and Dongfeng Road to the south. It mainly consists of the city central square and Xinhu Lake, forming an urban public leisure space that integrates culture, recreation, entertainment, and sports. The scenic area covers 1,200 acres, including 600 acres of water surface, and is composed of the central square, Century Square, Cultural Center, and Xinhu Lake.

Among them, the Central Square was completed in 1998; the Century Square was completed in 2000; in 2001, the municipal government decided to return the lake and scenery to the people by relocating government offices and converting the area into a Workers’ Cultural Palace, library, cinema, and senior activity center; in 2002, Qingfeng Garden, a sports and fitness area, and Xisen Happy Island were built, and two existing buildings were remodeled into a museum and theater. The entire scenic area features five interconnected lakes with mirror-like surfaces, lush gardens, and pleasant breezes, making it a symbolic landmark of Dezhou. The city central square is divided into a leisure square, cultural square, and sports square. Xinhu Lake area is an open lakeside park, covering a total of 28 hectares, divided into East Lake, Middle Lake, West Lake, and South Lake area, featuring attractions such as “Bright Moon Bridge,” “Layered Green Hill,” “Boat Dock,” “Wave-Treading Platform,” “Spring-Knowing Pavilion,” and “Plum Garden.” These elements showcase the unique characteristics of Dezhou and are organically connected to the city central square via an overpass, complementing each other beautifully.

Sugar City Xinhu Park: Located at the intersection of Hanhuai Street and Tongqu Road, it was built in 2006. Covering 300 acres, it includes 200 acres of water surface and 100 acres of green space and squares. The park has three entrances: the south entrance leads directly into the Historical and Cultural Square, where visitors can view carvings briefly showcasing the history and culture of Yucheng; the southwest entrance leads straight to the Musical Waterscape Square, where you can enjoy the mesmerizing water curtains that dance to music; the west entrance opens into the Birdsong Forest Square, featuring attractions such as lakeside fish viewing, musical water platforms, leisure islands, aquatic plant viewing areas, and fishing zones.
