Huanghua City Museum

Huanghua City Museum is a county-level comprehensive museum under the jurisdiction of the Huanghua City Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio, Television, News, and Publishing. The museum was completed and opened to the public on November 1, 1989. It is located in the middle section of Bohai Road, Huanghua City, with a construction area of 1,200 square meters, featuring an imitation Ming-Qing style courtyard architecture. The museum includes four thematic exhibitions: the “Huanghua Historical Relics Exhibition,” the “Marine Rare and Exotic Creatures Exhibition,” the “Huanghua Revolutionary Historical Figures Exhibition,” and the “Chen Maocai Calligraphy Art Exhibition.”

The “Huanghua Historical Relics Exhibition” is designed to disseminate knowledge about historical relics to visitors by showcasing representative artifacts from various periods. The exhibited items include eight categories totaling 731 pieces: stone tools, bronzes, pottery, porcelain, stone statues, imperial edicts, jade artifacts, and coins, along with 49 images. A special display case features porcelain fragments from multiple kilns, including Ding Kiln, Ge Kiln, Jun Kiln, Xing Kiln, and Cizhou Kiln. The exhibition hall covers an area of 275 square meters.

The “Huanghua Revolutionary Historical Figures Exhibition” highlights the great achievements of General Zhao Boxiong and General Huanghua throughout their lives. It displays 31 physical objects and over 100 images. Through this exhibition, it deeply promotes the glorious history and fine traditions of the Communist Party, passionately celebrates the Party’s remarkable accomplishments, and evokes more visitors’ red memories of Huanghua’s revolutionary history. It showcases the glorious journey led by the Chinese Communist Party as the people of Huanghua fought bravely, thus commemorating the illustrious achievements of revolutionaries, inheriting revolutionary traditions, guiding visitors to better understand the revolutionary history of Huanghua, receive patriotic education, and strengthen the patriotic sentiments of the general public in our city.

The “Marine Rare and Exotic Creatures Exhibition” displays over a thousand specimens of marine rare and exotic creatures, along with 72 images. The coral on display is beautiful and vibrant, competing in splendor, while various seashells and sea snails are colorful and dazzling. Marine fish are even more diverse, coming in a wide array of forms. Examples include flying fish, anglerfish, fish that use long tails to catch prey, fish resembling hedgehogs, fish containing deadly toxins, and man-eating sharks. In addition, there are rarely seen exhibits such as seahorses, sea snakes, sea turtles, and whale skeletons. The exhibition follows the evolutionary sequence from lower to higher organisms, showcasing seven major categories and over 230 species, including algae, echinoderms, coelenterates, mollusks, fish, turtles, and mammals.

The “Chen Maocai Calligraphy Art Exhibition” displays over 40 calligraphy works by Chen Maocai, a calligrapher from Huanghua.
