The Sishan Cliff Carvings in Pingyin are located in Hongfanchi Town, Pingyin County. Dating back to the Northern Dynasties period, on December 7, 2006, they were designated as part of the third batch of Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

It covers an area of 115 square kilometers, with 2,096 hectares of arable land, and governs 34 administrative villages. The town has 8,263 households and a population of 28,016, with a birth rate of 8.29‰ and a natural population growth rate of 5.43‰.
