In March 1942, the Japanese army launched its fourth “Public Order Strengthening Campaign.” To thwart the enemy’s “encirclement and suppression,” the Communist Party Committee of Pingyin County set up liaison stations to carry out resistance activities. On October 7, Xiong Shanlong and Zhu Daquan, the head of the First District, led five comrades across the Yellow River to execute the extremely guilty puppet town head Lu Xuhan. They stayed overnight in Qianguanzhuang Village that night. Due to betrayal by a bad actor, they were surrounded by the enemy. After two hours of fierce fighting and with no ammunition or reinforcements left, Xiong Shanlong, along with Zhu Daquan and others, died heroically for their country.

The tomb was built in Hupu Village, Ligou Township, his hometown. In 2002, the county government allocated special funds for renovation and erected a monument. The county Party committee and government highly praised the achievements of Martyr Xiong Shanlong in the inscription.

On June 23, 2015, Martyr Xiong Shanlong’s Tomb was designated as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units in Shandong Province by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.
