Pingyin Crabapple Garden Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Crabapple Garden is situated at the foot of the Sacred Mountain of Our Lady in Huzhuang, a world-renowned Catholic holy site in China. With a sound ecological environment, beautiful pastoral views, and a wonderful fusion of vibrant cultural heritage and enchanting natural landscapes, the area is abundant in agricultural and rural tourism resources. Spanning 20,000 mu, the development of the scenic area emphasizes ecological science and technology, as well as balanced economic and social benefits. It combines Western religious culture with traditional Chinese landscape garden design, creating a comprehensive destination that integrates science education, premium agricultural displays, eco-tourism, leisure travel, and religious culture. The Sacred Mountain Scenic Area began planning at the end of 2002, officially developed into a large-scale industry in 2004, and was designated as a “National AA-level Tourist Attraction,” Jinan Artists’ Creative Base, and National Eco-Environmental Demonstration Zone in 2006. In 2007, it was awarded the title of National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site and one of Jinan’s “Top Ten Tourist Attractions.” In 2011, it was recognized by the Provincial Department of Agriculture as one of the first 100 leisure agriculture parks in the province. In March 2012, it was included in Jinan’s Urban Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park construction project, and in 2014, it was named a “National AAA-level Tourist Attraction.”

Featured Attractions: Sacred Mountain Stone Sea: The first sight in the Curved Water Bay, the “Sacred Mountain Stone Sea,” is a typical karst landform (limestone landscape) and a rare natural wonder in North China. Strolling along the shores of the “Sacred Mountain Stone Sea,” thousands of massive rocks resemble rolling waves and rippling water. Up close, they evoke the cries of seagulls and the spirits of the ocean depths; from afar, they look like migrating elephant herds or flocks of sheep descending the mountain—vivid and lifelike in countless forms, bringing a sudden sense of wonder amidst the serene natural surroundings. It is often praised as the “Southern Stone Forest, Northern Stone Sea.”
