Ligui Fen Village is located in the western part of Yinxiang Town, Shanghe County, Jinan City. It lies to the north of the Dasha River, a provincial-level wetland park originally established during the Western Han Dynasty. The village is clean and tidy, with beautiful scenery. As a former flood-prone area, the fertile sandy soil along the Dasha River is highly suitable for the growth of various fruits and melons. For thousands of years, this region has been rich in produce and fragrant with fruits. Among them, the duck pears and apples from Ligui Fen Village are especially renowned. Once exclusive imperial tributes, these fruits have long enjoyed enduring fame as everyday delights enjoyed by people from all walks of life. The village currently has 300 acres of orchards, including 200 acres of ancient pear orchards over 100 years old, and a “Pear King Tree” that is over 300 years old. The pears grown in this orchard were recognized in 2011 by the National Administration for Industry and Commerce as a “National Geographical Indication Certified Product.” In 2012, Ligui Fen Village successfully hosted the first Shanghe County Ligui Fen Imperial Pear Picking Cultural Festival, and was honored as one of the “Top Ten Rural Tourism Festival Events in Jinan City” in the same year.
