The Xiaoguanzhuang Tomb Cluster

The Xiaoguanzhuang Tomb Cluster is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

The Xiaoguanzhuang Tomb Cluster is located in Xiaoguanzhuang Village, Hanmiao Township, Shanghe County, and dates back to the Han Dynasty.

The Xiaoguanzhuang Han Tomb Cluster is located northeast of Xiaoguanzhuang Village in the northwest of Hanmiao Township, Shanghe County, Jinan City, Shandong Province, China, approximately 3 kilometers south of the township government seat. The tomb cluster originally consisted of five large Han tombs: Daguo (Big Mound), Moguo (Mill Mound), Pingguo (Flat Mound), Xinja Mound, and Dongcun Mound (East Village Mound), among which Daguo was the largest, measuring about 55 meters in both length and width, and about 5 meters in height. Currently, the Dongcun Mound has been destroyed, and the Pingguo Mound was buried in the riverbank due to the widening of the Dehui New River in 1968. The other three mounds are relatively well-preserved, with numerous pottery shards, carved square bricks, and coiled cloud-patterned tiles found on their surfaces and in cross-sections. Most artifacts were lost due to damage to the Dongcun Mound, though several pieces of red clay pottery coated with green glaze have been collected.

On June 12, 1992, the Xiaoguanzhuang Tomb Cluster was designated as part of the second batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.
