Also known as "Wenyang Terrace," the Wenyang City Ruins is a municipal-level cultural heritage site. It is located northeast of Dapengkou Town, close to the Dawen River in the southeast. It was the former site of a temporary palace built by Duke Huan of Lu (reigned 711–694 BCE) to facilitate his wife, Wenyang (the second daughter of Duke Xi of Qi), when she returned to her home state of Qi for family visits. The ruins are situated at the border between the states of Lu and Qi. Currently, there remains an earthen platform about 1.5 meters above the ground, covering an area of 22,500 square meters. Collected artifacts include basins, jars, pots, urns, dou vessels, and roof tiles, many of which exhibit characteristics of Warring States period items. The site dates from the Spring and Autumn to the Warring States periods. According to the Commentary on the Water Classic (Shui Jing Zhu), "Today, by the waters of Wenshang, there stands the Wenyang Terrace."
