Tai'an Archives

The Tai'an Archives serves as a patriotic education base.

The Tai'an Archives was established in November 1961 and is now known as the Tai'an Archives (Bureau) Patriotic Education Base.

In 2005, the construction of the municipal archives' patriotic education base was listed by the city's "Three Cities Joint Creation" leading group as one of the 30 key practical projects for the city in 2006.

In March 2006, a patriotic education base covering an area of nearly 200 square meters was completed; on July 12, the Publicity Department of the Municipal Party Committee officially approved its establishment with the document Tai Xuan [2006] No. 21, "Approval on Agreeing to List the Tai'an Archives as a Municipal Patriotic Education Base"; on August 10, it was officially unveiled and opened to the public. In June 2009, it was approved as a Shandong Provincial Patriotic Education Base by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee. In 2014, it was approved as a Tai'an Social Science Popularization Education Base by the Publicity Department of the CPC Tai'an Municipal Committee and the Tai'an Social Science Federation.

After the establishment of the education base, in line with the goal of leveraging its function to inform policy and educate people, several exhibitions have been held. In August 2006, the "20th Anniversary Review Exhibition of the Mount Tai International Mountaineering Festival" was held. In July 2007, a slideshow titled "Flames Over Tai'an – 60th Anniversary of the Victory of the Anti-Japanese War Photo Exhibition" was created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War; in August of the same year, the "20th Anniversary of the Promulgation and Implementation Photo Exhibition" was held; in September of the same year, to celebrate the Olympic torch relay in Tai'an, the "Dragon Series Patriotic Education Oil Painting Exhibition" was held. In October 2010, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army entering the Korean War, the film "Tai'an Military and Civilians in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea" was produced, showcasing this moving history to the public.

In September 2011, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the painting exhibition "Party and State Leaders with Tai'an" was held, displaying the care and concern of 145 Party and state leaders for the people of Tai'an, including 30 national-level leaders (on the east wall) and 115 deputy national-level leaders (on the west wall).
