The Shanxi Guild Hall in Tai'an is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Shanxi Guild Hall in Tai'an is located in Dawenkou Town, Daiyue District, Tai'an City. It dates back to the Ming Dynasty. On December 7, 2006, it was designated as part of the third batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the Shandong Provincial People's Government.

The Shanxi Guild Hall is located on the west side of the road inside the southwest gate of Dawenkou Town, Daiyue District, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, and is one of the famous attractions in Dawenkou Town, serving as a key provincial-level protected cultural relic. The entire guild hall faces east and is divided into a northern and a southern courtyard. The northern section is the Guan Di Temple, while the southern section is the theater courtyard, covering a total area of 2,283 square meters.

According to the inscriptions on the tablets recording the renovation of the Shanxi Guild Hall, the site was expanded in 1759 on the foundation of the original Guan Di Temple. Since both the temple and the theater were funded entirely by Shanxi merchants, the site was named “Shanxi Guild Hall” after its completion, serving as a gathering place for fellow Shanxi natives and a reception venue for visiting Shanxi officials, merchants, and fellow townsmen. During the Republic of China period, it functioned as a lodging and catering facility as well as a school. After the liberation, it was successively repurposed as a warehouse for the salt company and then for the supply and marketing cooperative. This historic site suffered damage during the Cultural Revolution, resulting in the collapse of main structures such as the main hall, with other buildings also left in severe disrepair. On May 31, 2011, restoration work on the Shanxi Guild Hall commenced.

The exact founding date of the Shanxi Guild Hall is unverified. According to the "Record of Temple Reconstruction," it was renovated in the 32nd year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1693). Another record, the "Record of the Reconstruction of the Guan Di Temple," from the 3rd year of the Yongzheng reign (1725), details the saintly virtue of Lord Guan and describes how the temple, constrained by limited space and in a state of disrepair, was restored through fundraising efforts led by guild leaders Li Guichan, Li Yixing, Zhang Tailai, and others. Additionally, the "Record of Land Acquisition for the Guan Di Temple and Theater Construction" tablet states that in the 24th year of the Qianlong reign (1759), land was acquired to build the theater and expand the temple’s foundation.

Dawenkou Town: Located at the southern foot of the majestic Mount Tai and along the serene Wen River, Dawenkou Town lies at the midpoint between the renowned Mount Tai and Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, approximately 30 kilometers from each.
