The Memorial Hall of the Boxer Rebellion serves as a patriotic education base.

The Boxer Rebellion was a great anti-imperialist — in modern Chinese history. In October 2000, the Chinese Historical Society, the China Research Association on the Boxer Movement, Shandong University, and the People's Government of Weixian County jointly held the "International Academic Symposium Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Boxer Rebellion," where a "100th Anniversary Monument of the Boxer Rebellion" was erected in Weixian. It recognized Zhao Sanduo, a leader of the Boxers from Shaliuzhai Village in Weixian, who raised the "Support the Qing, Destroy the Foreign" banner in 1898 at the horse farm in Jiangzhuang, Weixian, declaring the uprising as the official beginning of the Boxer Rebellion, thereby establishing Weixian as the birthplace of the movement.

To fully leverage the memorial and educational roles of the Boxer Rebellion, Weixian invested over 8 million yuan to construct the Boxer Rebellion Memorial Hall. Located at the southern end of Yihé Square in downtown Weixian, the hall was completed and opened to the public in October 2003. The memorial integrates local characteristics, ethnic style, and modern architectural design. It hosts a large-scale exhibition that comprehensively reflects the "Boxer Rebellion," covering an exhibition area of 2,000 square meters.

There are three exhibition halls. The foyer features a large oil painting titled "The Boxers Fighting the Eight-Nation Alliance." The first hall displays sections such as "Foreign Powers Invade, the Nation’s Gates Open" and "Clashes Between Locals and Missionaries, Frequent Missionary Cases." The second hall includes sections such as "Bloodshed in the Capital, War Smoke Across China" and "National Humiliation, Suffering of the Chinese Nation." The entire exhibition concludes with Premier Zhou Enlai’s statement that the heroic struggle of the Boxers was "one of the cornerstones of the great victory of the Chinese people fifty years later." The museum currently houses a rich collection of weapons, musical instruments, books, and written materials related to the Boxer Rebellion. Among them, there are over 500 photos and more than 260 cultural relics. Exhibited items include the "Reconstructed Zhangjiazhuang Bao Shan Zhai Stele," a national second-class relic, and the "Wan Bao Fu Yi," a national third-class relic. Outside the hall stands the "Memorial Pavilion for Zhao Sanduo, Famous Leader of the Boxers," established by the Chinese Historical Society.

The Boxer Rebellion Memorial Hall is currently the most complete, systematic, and authoritative memorial venue dedicated to the Boxer Rebellion in China. The memorial has been designated as a Provincial Patriotic Education Base, a Provincial National Defense Education Base, a Provincial Youth Patriotic Education Demonstration Base, and a Municipal Training Base for Middle-aged and Young Cadres. It has also been awarded the title of "Advanced Unit of the Cultural and Museum System of Hebei Province."
