Former Residence of Wang Yaping

The former residence of Wang Yaping is a cultural tourism attraction.

Wang Yaping, pen name Luo Lun, was from Weixian County, Hebei Province. A member of the Communist Party of China, he graduated from the Fourth Normal School of Hebei Province in 1926. In 1935, he studied in Japan and, upon returning to China, joined a battlefield service team, serving as the editor-in-chief of *Spring Grass Poetry Series*. In 1946, he arrived in the Jilu-Yu Liberated Area, where he became the director of the Jilu-Yu Federation of Literary and Art Circles and edited *Plains Literature and Art*. After 1949, he held positions such as deputy section chief of the supplement department at Beijing’s *People’s Daily*, editor-in-chief of *Xinmin Bao* (The People's Daily), head of the Beijing Municipal Literature and Art Office, and secretary-general of the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He was also an executive director of the China Quyi Artists Association. He began publishing works in 1932 and joined the China Writers Association in 1953. His publications include poetry collections such as *Winter in the City*, *December Wind*, *The Song of the Storm Petrel*, *Ballads of Life*, *Fog of Fire*, *Blood-Stained Straw Hat*, *Heroes of the Yellow River*, *The First Hymn*, *The True Ballad of Li Ji*, *Songhe River*, *Spring Clouds Divorce*, *Mulin Girl Offers Her Gun*, and *Red Rose*; essay collections such as *From Old Art to New Art* and *On Du Fu*; plays such as *Zhang Yu Boils the Sea*; opera scripts such as *Molten Iron and Steel Flowers*; and lyrics such as *A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix*, *The Black Girl*, and *Regret at the Blue Bridge*.
