Cross Slope is located at the border between Shen County and Fan County in Henan Province,

Legend has it that this was the place where Zhang Qing of the “Vegetable Garden” and Sun Erniang, nicknamed “Female Demon,” ran an inn and befriended wandering heroes in the classic novel *Water Margin*. It is said that Sun Erniang’s maiden home was in Cherry Orchard Village, while her marital home was in what is now Zhang Qing Camp. Cross Slope, Cherry Orchard, and Zhang Qing Camp form a triangular area not far from one another. For hundreds of years, folk performers traveling through the region have avoided singing or telling stories about “Wu Song Fights the Innkeeper” or any tales from *Water Margin* involving Sun Erniang selling “human flesh buns.” There is a large bridge at Cross Slope, and standing at its head offers a breathtaking view of the scenic Jin Di River.
