Dong'e Ejiao City is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Dong'e Ejiao City, located in Luoshen Lake Park on the western outskirts of Dong'e County, is a comprehensive cultural tourism destination integrating Ejiao health preservation, film and TV production, leisure travel, and traditional Chinese medicine culture education. It is now a national AAAA-level scenic spot and a key cultural industry project in Shandong Province, and is one of the “100 Must-Visit Places in Shandong.”

The scenic area features beautiful landscapes surrounded by mountains and water. Key attractions include the Grand Mansion Film Base, Gongjiao Pavilion, and Ejiao Pavilion. Dong'e Ejiao City was once praised by the renowned director Guo Baochang as the “No.1 Film Base North of the Yangtze River.” A number of films and TV dramas have been shot here, including *Grand Mansion 1912*, *Snow Eagle*, *The Case of Little Cabbage*, *Tea Soul*, and *Iron-Blooded General*. Famous actors such as Chen Baoguo, Siqin Gaowa, Hou Yong, Liu Peiqi, He Qing, Du Zhiguo, and Zhang Xinyi have all performed here. Thanks to its strong film and celebrity appeal, the scenic area attracts numerous visitors.

The Dong'e Ejiao Gongjiao Pavilion, built in 2013, consists of seven sections: the History Hall, Modern Hall, Tasting Hall, Ejiao Refining Workshop, Ejiao Storage Pavilion, Imperial Medical Bureau, and Ejiao Well. It is one of the core attractions of Dong'e Ejiao City. The Gongjiao Pavilion combines “exhibition,” “interaction,” and “experience” to showcase the pure handmade craftsmanship of the Nine-Dynasty Tribute Ejiao, the history and product system of Ejiao, allowing visitors to engage in the production process, experience TCM health consultations, and even make their own Ejiao wellness meals—immersing them in the profound heritage of 3,000 years of Ejiao and the depth of TCM culture.

In the Gongjiao Pavilion, the Ejiao Refining Workshop vividly reenacts the scene of ancient Dong'e people preparing tribute Ejiao using secret recipes. In the Tasting Hall, you can sample Ejiao cakes rich with the deep aroma of Ejiao. At the Imperial Medical Bureau, eminent TCM doctors provide free consultations from time to time, offering health advice and services to visitors.

The Imperial Medical Bureau was an ancient institution dedicated to providing wellness services for the royal family, often creating “consumable tonics”—items that promote health and longevity. Here, it offers TCM consultations, plaster wellness treatments, and constitution analysis for visitors. We regularly invite eminent TCM doctors and well-known experts to provide free consultations and personalized services based on individual constitutions.

The Tasting Hall displays a range of products from the Dong'e Ejiao family. These include the supreme national gift, the Nine-Dynasty Tribute Ejiao, as well as health-nourishing Dong'e Ejiao, Fu Character Ejiao, Xi Character Ejiao, Turtle Shell Gelatin, Deer Antler Gelatin, and Sea Dragon Gelatin for your selection.

“Dragon meat in the sky, donkey meat on the ground” and “For longevity, eat donkey meat; for health, drink donkey soup.” Fushou Palace is the first donkey meat hot pot restaurant in China focused on wellness. Donkey meat is green, natural, nutritious, and delicious, with high protein and amino acids, but low fat and cholesterol.

The refinement of the Nine-Dynasty Tribute Ejiao emphasizes the right timing, favorable location, and harmony among people. “Harmony among people” refers to the unique craftsmanship that has evolved over time. This craft is now recognized as a “National Intangible Cultural Heritage,” with Mr. Qin Yufeng being the eighth-generation representative inheritor.

The story of Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, sealing the well refers to this very well.

Back then, when Li Shimin was still the “Prince of Qin,” he fought a major battle with Wang Shichong in western Shandong. During the conflict, the Prince of Qin’s army suffered a minor setback and retreated to Dong'e County to regroup. The local people supported the soldiers with Ejiao, which helped them quickly recover their energy and strength. As a result, morale soared, and they went on to defeat Wang Shichong in one fell swoop. After becoming emperor, Emperor Taizong never forgot the Ejiao Well and sent General Yu Chijing to seal the well, reserving it exclusively for royal Ejiao production.
