This was once the residence of Bai Jingqi in Jinan in the TV series "The Grand Mansion Gate 1912." It is a typical courtyard house with three courtyards and two wing rooms on the east and west sides, reflecting the layout of mansions during the late Qing and early Republican periods. The drama "The Grand Mansion Gate 1912" is closely related to the history of donkey-hide gelatin (Ejiao), and the show once depicted the mysterious story of a master gelatin craftsman from Dong'e County who went through great hardships to protect the "Nine-Dynasty Secret Manual" — vividly recreating that thrilling chapter of history.
