Aishan Gap

Aishan Gap is located 12 kilometers east of Dong'e County. It is the narrowest section of the lower Yellow River. The natural constriction formed between Aishan Mountain and the opposite Waishan Mountain causes the riverbed here to suddenly become much narrower. The fast-flowing waters of the Yellow River are squeezed into this tight channel, roaring, thundering, and surging, creating a magnificent landscape that, while not the Hukou Waterfall, rivals its grandeur. A poem about Aishan Gap goes: "In autumn, watch the surging waves; in winter, admire the ice. On the sixteenth day of the first lunar month, release river lanterns. Yellow River carp leap at the Gap, and at the foot of Aishan, dragons are bound."
