Yushan Gu Dui Site

The Yushan Gu Dui Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Yushan Gu Dui Site contains relics from the Shang, Zhou, Warring States, and Han dynasties. It currently covers an area of 3,000 square meters, with cultural deposits about eight meters thick. It is named “Yushan Gu Dui Site” because it is located at the site of the Yushan Town government.

In the spring of 1982, the Cultural Relics Group of the Jinxian County Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau, conducted a survey and trial excavation of the site, uncovering a large number of valuable cultural relics.

The upper layer yielded a set of grayish-blue pottery items including tripods, boxes, fangs, pots, plates, and figurines, belonging to the Han Dynasty culture. The artifacts are well-shaped with uniform walls, and their surfaces and bottoms often feature regular wheel marks and concentric circle cutting traces. The decorations are exquisite, with bright painted patterns, showcasing notable artistic value.

The lower layer unearthed gray pottery items such as li tripods, urns, basins, and cups, along with bronze weapons, dating back to the late Shang Dynasty.

Currently, most of the site is covered by the Yushan Town Grain Depot.

On June 12, 1992, it was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.
