Ancient Residential Buildings of Jinlou

The ancient residential buildings of Jinlou are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

The ancient residential buildings of Jinlou are located in Hujizhen, Jinxiang County, dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

On June 23, 2015, the ancient residential buildings of Jinlou were designated as part of the fifth batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Hujizhen: Hujizhen in Jinxiang County is situated in the northernmost part of the county. It administers 77 administrative villages and 122 natural villages, with a total population of 60,600 and a total area of 93.06 square kilometers, including 92,400 mu of arable land. It is a provincial-level central town and also renowned as the hometown of China’s white-skinned pear melon.

Hujizhen has a long history, is rich in talent, and boasts abundant natural resources. Human habitation dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. Over ten cultural relics and historic sites, such as the HuiLongshan Han Dynasty Tomb Cluster, Stone Horse Statues, the tomb of Guo Dongfan, Vice Magistrate of the Shanxi Provincial Surveillance Commission during the Ming Dynasty, and the Liu Zhuang Site from the Shang and Zhou periods, have been listed as provincial or municipal-level protected heritage sites...
